In the wake of a heart-pounding NASCAR Xfinity weekend at the renowned Daytona International Speedway, a surprising revelation emerged from motorsports. Wallace spoke of an intriguing exchange involving Dale Earnhardt Jr’s rising star, Justin Allgaier, his father (Mike Allgaier), and himself.

“First of all, congratulations to Justin Allgaier on his exciting, thrilling finish at Daytona. Justin won; it was the fourth-closest finish in Xfinity series history. Justin Allgaier is almost like family. They live, they don’t live, but they’re from not a hundred miles up the road in Springfield, Illinois. Funny story. Justin’s dad, Mike Allgaier, we call him Gator.”

“Gator called me about a month ago. ‘Herman, how many starts do you have in the Xfinity series? We’re coming after you.’ I said I have 545 starts, and I’m the mayor of the Xfinity series. I have the most starts. So anyway, I’m looking forward to Justin Allgaier beating my most starts record. I will go to the racetrack in his perfect scenario because he’s like family. So congratulations to Justin and his whole family on the big win in the Xfinity series.”

For Allgaier, this triumph marked the end of a 26-race quest for victory, at the hallowed grounds of Daytona. It was a journey defined by heartbreaks. Second-place finishes that once seemed agonizingly close had now paved the way for a euphoric breakthrough. This victory, the 21st of his storied career, positioned him as a contender amidst the formidable names of the series. With only two regular-season races remaining, Allgaier stood shoulder-to-shoulder with John Hunter Nemechek and Austin Hill, a testament to his indomitable spirit. But this is not all!

“This is Daytona. This is one of the most iconic places in the world, and I’m just so happy to be here. I’ve been coming to this place for a long time. I wanted to win here so bad, and we’ve been so close. We did all we needed to do.” Allgaier, who drives for the 2 time Daytona 500 winner, said, as per ESPN.
