The recent Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson fiasco had every Hendrick Motorsports fan as well as NASCAR fan at the edge of their seat. The last year’s champion versus this year’s championship leader’s on-track competition got fiercer after Larson forced Elliott wide at Watkins Glen last week.
But how is the team maintaining composure between the two alpha drivers amidst all these? Another Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron reveals.

In a report published by Speedwaydigest.com, Byron stated, “It’s tricky. In NASCAR today, there are so many other factors; like who’s behind you on a restart is a factor. So, that makes a decision different for you based on the loyalty, or lack thereof. I think all of those things factor in.”
“But when it comes to directly racing your teammate; for us, it’s just not making contact. We’re expected to trust the other three guys a little bit more than the rest of the field. I think that’s just the way that I approach it,” the Hendrick Motorsports driver further asserted.
Where do all the Hendrick Motorsports drivers stand this season?
Among all the four drivers, Chase Elliott stands tallest. Elliott has so far amassed 922 points in 25 starts so far. The no. 9 driver also has four wins, ten top-fives, 17 top-tens, and five stage wins.
Next on the list is Kyle Larson. The no. 5 driver has collected a total of 788 points so far. With a total of two wins, 10 top-fives, 13 top-tens, and three-stage win, Larson is at no. 2 in the overall standings.
