At the Martinsville Speedway, Ty Gibbs once again found himself in the naughty list. While battling for the lead with teammate Brandon Jones, he spun him out on the final lap. As a result, Jones lost out on a chance to qualify for the Championship 4 in the Xfinity Series. Gibbs has been at the epicenter of a fair number of incidents, particularly in the Xfinity Series. What else did he say about Ty Gibbs?

Obviously, the Gibbs-Jones incident pretty much breaks an unwritten rule in racing. To be precise, don’t crash into your teammate, as it will cost the team dearly. Unfortunately for Jones, what’s done is done, and the contenders are Gibbs, Noah Gragson, Josh Berry and Justin Allgaier. Meanwhile, the #19 Xfinity driver is eliminated, along with AJ Allmendinger, Sam Mayer and Austin Hill.

Joe Gibbs continued, “When tough things happen, certainly nobody wanted that to happen. I said, now there’s consequences so we’re trying to walk through those. with him. I was also there, so I think a lot about that too. There’s things that I could have done a better job of. So I think, together Ty’s walking through it, I’m walking through it, and we’re still in that process.”
