Recently, NASCAR driver Kaz Grala managed to grab a seat on The Money Team, which is a Cup Series outfit that boxing legend Floyd Mayweather owns. Grala spoke about the upcoming season and working alongside Mayweather. It is worth mentioning that the 23-year-old is only taking part in a limited number of races. Naturally, he will be hoping to use this chance to earn a full-time seat in the future.

He said, “So far, it’s been really really cool working with him and his team. They obviously exude confidence as well, and are really excited about this NASCAR opportunity. Floyd’s been a car guy for as long as he can remember, and what better place to be in the US than NASCAR. We are the fast cars, we are the top division of auto racing in the US. He’s definitely excited about it, he loves the paint scheme.”

Kaz Grala is excited to race at the Daytona 500

The driver will be impatiently waiting for the new season to kick off. Although he is racing in select events, one of them is the Daytona 500. This will be his second ever Daytona 500 start, as he competed last year for Kaulig Racing. At that time, he finished in 28th place, and he also had more chances to race that year. So far, his best ever finish in the Cup Series is 6th place at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Of course, The Money Team does not have a charter, so Grala will have his work cut out for him. To be precise, he will have to try and qualify his way into the season-opening Daytona 500 on February 20. For him, there are two options at play, either by being the fastest or winning the Duel races. One thing is for sure, he will be hard at work in preparing for the race.
