This weekend’s Cup race is on Saturday night, for a change, and is known as the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500. Joey Logano heads into this race with a psychological advantage, as he won the Bristol race. In other words, he will be hoping to keep up the momentum at Martinsville.

“For generations of race fans Martinsville Speedway is their home for NASCAR racing, so we look forward to continuing our short track tradition that began in 1949,” said President Clay Campbell. “With April’s Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 night race and the Xfinity 500 serving as the penultimate Cup Series race of the season, the battle for the Martinsville grandfather clock will be as fierce as ever.”

What to expect from the NASCAR night race at Martinsville

It is interesting to note that the spring date is significant because the last time Martinsville hosted an April race was in 2017. Safe to say, NASCAR is marking this occasion with the first night race of the year. In addition to that, Martinsville and Richmond will play host to back-to-back race weekends for the fourth time ever.

However, there is a chance that he may find it difficult to repeat that feat. Despite the obvious challenge, he will definitely try his hardest to pull through and be the first to claim a second win.
