Hendrick Motorsports and Jimmie Johnson Set For a New Paint Scheme: Reports
Follow Us
In a bid to ‘reset’ the season, Jimmie Johnson and Hendrick Motorsports are set to unveil a brand new livery. The new livery is expected to break cover on Thursday, August 13 ahead of the Daytona race.
Truthfully, this change is a little sudden, but Johnson is reportedly unhappy with the black colour scheme. This is why the Hendrick Motorsports team is shipping in a lot of updates. Furthermore, the colour change is meant to signify something new and a fresh start.
There have been a few leaks on social media, but Jimmie Johnson is set to make the official reveal soon on his social media. It is also worth mentioning that Hendrick Motorsports recently penned a commercial deal with Acronis. Additionally, rumors say that his car might feature a new primary color to match the Acronis color scheme.

Jimmie Johnson seriously needs to reinvent himself
So far this season, poor old Jimmie Johnson has not been having such a great campaign. The veteran is set to walk away from NASCAR at the end of the season, but his final run has not gone to plan so far.
This is why Hendrick Motorsports is planning to revamp everything, right up till the livery. So, the livery change is just another step in, hopefully the right direction for the team and Johnson himself.

For the moment, the 44-year old is languishing in 16th place in the championship and out of a playoffs spot. His highest position this year was a 3rd place finish at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Other than that, the 7-time world champion has been blowing hot and cold all year.
Earlier this year, he missed the race in Indianapolis because he tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. So, he went into mandatory quarantine and missed the race in order to recover. The good news is that he is now back in action and fully fit, but the bad news is that his form has not improved since.
Now it appears that the car’s new paint scheme has finally broken cover.
