Kevin Harvick has been on a roll as far as the 2020 NASCAR season is concerned. In fact, he looks like a strong candidate for the Cup Series Championship.

Harvick recently grabbed pole for the Go Bowling 235 race at the Daytona International Speedway. It is worth noting that this race is the first to use the new starting lineup format.

Under the new regulations, random draws won’t be used during the remaining 14 races of the season. Instead, NASCAR will implement a formula based on most recent race finish, position in the owner standings, and fastest lap rank in the last race.

What is the weather like at Daytona?

Admittedly, all the drivers could be in for a tough time at the iconic venue because the weather report suggests heavy rains. To further complicate matters, showers are expected all week.

If this is the case, it could throw the Cup Series race in jeopardy, since NASCAR never takes place in wet conditions.

Bob Pockrass of FOX NASCAR reveals in a tweet that teams are ready with their rain tires for the race if the worse happens.
