Back in 2019, NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace sat down with actor and comedian, Kevin Hart. The two spoke at length on various subjects, ranging from his racing to the general subject of NASCAR. Soon, the conversation shifted to NASCAR and Hollywood’s relationship. This was when Hart mentioned the famous NASCAR movie, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

Wallace immediately said, “Hell no! Worst movie ever”. Hart then asked about a scene in the movie where there is an accident and there’s one person driving slowly.

The then Richard Petty Motorsports driver firmly shot down the notion. Hart pressed on with another scene where there was a cheetah in the back of the car to help the driver get over his fear. Obviously, Wallace insisted that the scene ‘never happened’.

What is Bubba Wallace up to in 2022?

Fast-forward to three years later, and Wallace is still competing in the Cup Series. This time, he is racing for the 23XI Racing team and is in his second season. Since his talk with the American comedian, Bubba Wallace has notched up one win and 13 Top ten finishes in his career. The best part was that the win came at the Talladega Superspeedway, which is his home track.

However, he has not managed to break into the Top 10 ever since. To make matters worse, his new teammate, Kurt Busch, is miles ahead of him in the championship. The 2004 Cup Series champion has four Top 10s to his credit in 2022. So it has nothing to do with the car, but it is just that, Wallace has been unlucky on multiple occasions. Now, he will be hoping to turn his fortunes around, this weekend at Bristol.
