Bass Pro Shop and Martin Truex Jr’s partnership is still going strong

The alliance between Bass Pro Shop and Martin Truex Jr is still as solid as a rock. While many thought Martin Truex Jr might hang up his helmet following in Kevin Harvick’s footsteps, he’s proving he’s still got plenty of fuel in the tank. Not only has he re-upped his contract with JGR but also he is continuing to fly the flag for Bass Pro Shops in the #19 Toyota, which just got a flashy makeover with its new orange and black look.

The partnership means much more to Truex than just racing; Bass Pro Shops has been a pillar of support, not just on the track but off it too, especially for the commendable work Truex and his former partner, Sherry Pollex, have done in their fight against ovarian cancer.

And now, with the racing season about to kick off, the team has pulled the wraps off their latest livery. Last season’s design leaned heavily on a darker theme, with a black bonnet and deep orange stripes streaking from the doors to the tail. But this year, they’ve turned up the brightness, with the orange not just stepping into the spotlight but taking over the whole show in a lighter, zestier shade.

This bold move has certainly turned heads, sparking a wave of excitement among many fans, while others seem to have given it the cold shoulder, not quite warming up to the new look.

Fans are split in their opinions about the new look of Truex Jr’s car

The new paint job on Martin Truex Jr’s car has really stirred the pot among NASCAR fans, splitting the crowd down the middle. On one side, you’ve got folks who can’t wrap their heads around the new design, tossing out zingers like, “how is it even worse than last years,” and, “who took away the rendering privileges? 😭.”

Some are pining for the good old days, with cries of “We want the 2017 scheme brought back” while others are just shaking their heads in disbelief, asking, “What is this render 💀💀💀.”

One critic didn’t mince words, calling it outright terrible saying, “Wow that’s awful” while another was baffled at how the design managed to take a step back from last year’s Bass Pro Shops car. And there’s even a jab about it missing some pizzazz, like “All it’s missing is white or orange rims.”

But it’s not all doom and gloom. There’s a fair share of fans who are all in on the new look, singing its praises. You’ve got die-hards ready to snag some memorabilia, saying, “🏁 I would love to have both of those collectibles & an autograph from my favorite driver!!🏁🏁GO #19 GO!!🏁,” “Love it!!!,” “The roof is so much better than last year! But I still prefer the 2021 scheme to this,” and “Not bad.”

There’s even a fan who’s all about that extra splash of orange, saying, “Actually love the extra orange and the new body style!” Meanwhile, according to one fan, the scheme was Another JGR banger 🔥🔥🔥.”
