After a tough battle to finish second, Bowman was receiving medical treatment when Wallace arrived at the scene to confront the #88 car driver.

Talking about the incident, Kyle Petty stated, “I think we have to go back to the chicane move for Alex, basically spun Bubba out.”

“And Bubba didn’t appreciate it. And he came over.”

“I mean you can’t hit a man when he’s sitting on the ground, so he threw water on him. I think that’s what you do.”

Explaining the race incident, he went on to add, “You see here, Alex runs up to him. Bubba is a little bit slower at this of time. He pops him a couple of times and then is the car start off the corner. He just hopes he didn’t turn him the wrong way.”

“I mean when you see it from this angle and listen, this is my dad’s car and I don’t defend this move at all,” Petty further stated.

Kyle Petty even defended Bubba Wallace and his action. Petty justified that it was natural for a driver to be angry and get mad under such circumstances. He further stated, “I don’t defend this move at all, because it almost looks like he turned left on him a little bit, spinning him off the racer.”

“So Bubba had a right to be mad.”
