It’s no secret that if not most, then at least a considerable amount of the poor results that Bubba Wallace has had this season are down to the problems he’s had on the pit road. That’s a fact, something for everyone to see.

But what’s not being seen is the pressure those things are building up in the 23XI Racing driver’s mind.

This was something that NASCAR analyst Jeff Burton recently spoke about.

“One of the things that’s clearly holding Bubba (Wallace) back is the pit crew. That’s not fabricated. That’s not made up. It’s real. It has to get fixed,” he said. “Part of his frustration, I’m sure is, recognizing how are they gonna fix it?”

“There’s a lot of things going on there. There’s pressure there,” Burton continued.

“He has a tremendous amount of pressure on him. He is a fierce competitor, a skilled racecar driver, and he wants to be winning races on a consistent basis.”

Jeff Burton empathizes with Bubba Wallace after his Nashville radio rant

Speaking about the radio rant from Nashville for which Bubba Wallace received a lot of criticism, Jeff Burton also acknowledged that it wasn’t what was needed or expected of him in the moment.

But at the same time, it’s something he understands.

“When I listen to Bubba Wallace on the radio, it’s a bit over the top, but I understand why. I understand emotionally what he’s going through,” Burton said. “You’re constantly being judged. But I’ve never had the pressure that he has on him.” 

The NASCAR analyst added that the amount of pressure that Bubba Wallace has or faces, that’s a lot for anybody to take on.

“All eyes are on him, all the time,” he added. “So a guy like that is going to bull over.”
