Penning down a brand new chapter in his NASCAR career, Kyle Busch clinched his first victory as a Richard Childress Racing (RCR) driver in Feb. Setting two records with his win, the two-time Cup champion has now become the first driver to register a Cup Series victory for 19 consecutive years. Moreover, he and his brother Kurt Busch are now officially, as NASCAR called it, the winningest duo in the sport’s history. However, despite his achievements at the earlier part of the season, many believe that there is a lot more in store for Busch this year.

And now, it seems that his team owner Richard Childress also agrees with it.

In a recent conversation, photojournalist Chris Weaver asked Childress how Kyle Busch actively helping the team makes him feel. To this, the former race car driver replied, “I was just meeting with Kyle yesterday and I am just so impressed with his ability and knowledge of race car and his drive to want to do good and want to win. We’re working hard. We’re getting there.”

While discussing Kyle Busch and RCR’s performance this season, Richard Childress revealed that there is a lot more left to explore in their new partnership this season. Furthermore, Childress ensured that the fans can expect some exponential changes in Busch and RCR during the upcoming phase of the 2023 season.

He said, “We didn’t run good at Richmond, we had two good cars at Bristol. We’re gonna be there before the year is over. We just gotta keep digging and we don’t have his complete feel yet with a crew chief. I’d say the second half of the season, you’re going to see a whole different RCR and Kyle Busch.”

Moreover, the RCR owner also shared why he was particularly excited this year. He added, “Because we got to learn each other as far as what he really wants and what we can give him and I’m excited. I’m probably as excited this year as I’ve been in a long time.”

Having already clinched a big win for his team, it is clear how Busch has eased into this new era of his career. Happy to have him on board, Austin Dillon, Kyle Busch’s teammate, and Richard Childress’ grandson stated in an interview, “I’m glad Kyle’s over here. It’s just a great fit. Me and Kyle really do like hanging around each other and talking race cars. RCR is home for him now and it’s awesome to get that first win. Obviously, it happened fast.”
