Apart from the top-tier NASCAR competitions, one series that has been gaining a lot of attention lately for its popularity and impact is the newly launched sprint car series, High Limit Racing(HLR). While the series’ popularity can be partly attributed to Kyle Larson’s presence as an owner, there’s no denying that participating in the car series is bound to act as a stepping stone for many top-tier aspirants. Recently, Larson’s brother-in-law and HLR co-owner, Brad Sweet reiterated the series’ influence on a young racer’s career.

High Limit Racing co-owner explains Kyle Larson, Rico Abreu’s impact
In a recent interview, five time World of Outlaws champion Brad Sweet spoke about how the High Limit Racing series can help rookie drivers. The competition that will also see former Cup Series champion and co-owner Kyle Larson participating, will apparently help the younger drivers push themselves to a higher level, according to Sweet.

“I’m a 5-time champion coming to the series, you’re going to have to beat me to accomplish, to be a champion and I think that’s gonna say a lot about High Limit Racing. The bar is set extremely high and obviously, we are going to elevate those people that are around us,” Sweet said.
The 37-year-old also mentioned Rico Abreu who had a fantastic performance in the competition last season. Abreu finished second in the competition behind Kyle Larson and was a standout performer throughout the event. As per Brad Sweet, competitions like this will help the younger athletes refine their game.
“Ricky Warner provides a great race car for Rico Abreu night in, and night out and he elevates the people around him. Kyle Larson’s gonna be racing in half our races. He’s gonna elevate all of us to the next level so as a group, you’re gonna see these stars start to emerge,” the co-owner added.

However, race craft improvement is not the only goal of the High Limit Racing series as far as Kyle Larson is concerned. As per the former Cup Series champion, the goal is to make racing in the series more lucrative, especially for younger drivers.

It is no secret that motorsports is an expensive sport. A lot of times, drivers and teams struggle to break even. In that regard, Kyle Larson believes that a higher purse value would attract more drivers and teams to race in his competition. If they can perform well, they will take home a good amount of prize money which will help further their career in motorsports.

“Our goal is to definitely raise the purses so I think anytime you buy something you want to make it better or more lucrative for the teams and stuff. So yeah, that’s our goal. I think there’s more risk for sure on our end with a much larger schedule that we’ll hopefully have but again Brad [Sweet] and I and everybody involved in the High Limit want the best for the sprint car racing and I think our goal is to definitely put it there,” Larson had said earlier this year.
