Earlier, ESPN reported that NFL star Tom Brady was announcing his retirement. However, the 44-year-old has insisted that he has not made any decision on his future yet. After some time, ESPN deleted their tweet, and everything is up in the air once again. However, that brief tweet did a lot of damage and fooled many, including several in the NASCAR community. During the brief period that the tweet was live, tributes poured in from everywhere. A large majority of the tweets spoke about some great moments from the star quarterback. In the eyes of many, Brady truly is the greatest NFL player of all time. Over the course of his incredible career, he won seven Super Bowls.

What next for Chase Elliott and the NASCAR paddock?

As everyone celebrated Brady’s career, albeit prematurely, there are more serious matters at hand. To be exact, the drivers and the teams are preparing for the start of the 2022 Cup Series season. Elliott will be particularly fired up because he was unable to defend his 2020 Cup Series crown. So, the #9 driver will be on for a spot of redemption.

However, he will have to deal with the likes of his teammate, Kyle Larson first. Apart from the reigning champion, there are several other contenders to be wary of. This includes teams like Joe Gibbs Racing and Team Penske. The first race of the season is at the Los Angeles Coliseum which is hosting the annual Busch Light Clash.

This is the first time that the Clash is at a venue that is not the Daytona International Speedway. Right from 1979 until 2021, the Clash has taken place at the iconic speedway.
