The power couple took to their respective social media handles to announce that they are expecting their fourth child. Granting their wishes Ayesha Curry recently appeared for her first post-pregnancy announcement interview.

During the conversation on the ‘Live Kelly & Mark’ show, Ayesha Curry revealed that given the six-year gap that took place between her recent and her previous pregnancy, she possesses a lot more “gratitude” and “wisdom” to appreciate her current stage. While Ayesha seemed to have definitely come to terms with welcoming a new family member, the same couldn’t have been said about her eldest daughter Riley.

“My 11-year-old, she’s excited but I feel like if she could be an only child, like she would love that” Ayesha revealed as the audience let out a laugh. “She’s a little sceptical”.

While Riley is going through her own stage of acceptance, her siblings are already on board to welcome the new baby. Ayesha Curry said, “My 8-year-old (Ryan) is the cuddly one, and so she’s all about the physicality of it, so she like loves watching the belly grow. And my son (Canon) is just excited. He is asking questions each week: ‘How big is the baby this week?’, ‘Does your baby have a working brain?’ Just the most magical questions”.

Given that Riley already has two younger siblings who supposedly take the attention away from her, who can blame her for having reservations about having another in her presence? Ayesha Curry, on the other hand, is gearing up to be more careful about her new baby. In fact, she will be incorporating a valuable lesson she learned when she became a mother for the first time.

Ayesha Curry regretted not shielding Riley from the public eye

Being the firstborn of Stephen and Ayesha Curry, Riley was the couple’s first parenting test. Raising her was quite an experience, which came with several valuable insights and learnings for the couple. Unlike the millions of parents around the world, however, the Currys were famous. This gave them an extra thing to worry about.

During an interview last year with Insider, Ayesha Curry revealed one of her biggest parenting regrets when it came to Riley. She wished that she had not exposed her daughter to the public eye before she was ready to handle the fame and attention.

Ayesha Curry noted, “When the social media thing started, nobody knew what that was going to become. She also said, “If we had known back in the day just how chaotic it would make life, I don’t think we would’ve done it… But we were just genuinely living our lives back then. And we thought, ‘This is our kid. We’re bringing our kid along.’”
