It’s not like Stephen Curry was hosting a family dinner every weekend, but at least he and his siblings were within the same NBA circles. His brother, Seth Curry, has moved even closer after signing for the Golden State Warriors in free agency. However, his sister Sydel Curry-Lee had to do the opposite. As her husband, Damion Lee, who once won the title with Stephen Curry in 2022, did not re-sign with the Phoenix Suns, the family had no reason to stay in the city. Lee signed for Israeli Basketball Premier League club Nes Ziona, and Curry Lee moved back home to Charlotte.

“Honey, I’m *almost* home. Can’t wait to bring my family back to where I grew up. I had the best childhood here, and I’m so excited for my kids to experience the same—Bojangles and all the changing seasons here we come. 🏡🤎 📍Charlotte, NC”. A week after dropping that update, she posted a couple of shots in a crisp, minimalist fit, and her close ones couldn’t help but admire how the change was suiting Sydel.

“DAYUUUUMMMMMMM,” Wrote Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink, whose connections with the Curry family go way back. In 2021, Steph shared during a press conference that Cameron’s mom and dad are his godparents.

Meanwhile, his parents, Dell and Sonya, are godparents to Cameron, making him, Ayesha, and Cameron god-siblings. The two even host a podcast together named ‘Straight to Cam’ that launched in late January 2025 with Wave Sports & Entertainment.

Brink’s god sister in law was the next to comment as Ayesha Curry wrote,  “Good gracious,” along with Seth Curry’s wife, Callie Curry, who wrote, “oh hiiiii there.”

Apart from immediate family, Curry-Lee’s friend Kamiah Adams was in the comments, too. “There she gooooo😍😍😍,” She wrote.  Beyond her supportive family and friends, Sydel seems to be embracing change with open arms.

There is Nothing Like Childhood Home For Sydel Curry-Lee

Sydel Curry-Lee grew up with her two older brothers in Charlotte, North Carolina, and while they were both hooked on basketball, she began playing volleyball instead. In her NCSA recruiting profile, she wrote that she was attending Charlotte Christian School and had been playing volleyball since she was in 7th grade.

Cut to today, she is back in the same city after years, but couldn’t have imagined this path a few years back.

“I am so excited up here, I was born and raised here. I am a charlatan to my core, I am a Southern girl to my core. If you would have asked me a couple of years ago, like, would I live here again? I would tell you no, but it just makes so much sense for us to move here, and I’m really excited.” She said in a recent video.

However, she is doing all the moving without her husband, Damion Lee, while managing her three kids and three dogs. Solo parenting comes with its challenges, but amid all the hustle, Curry-Lee is finding some time for herself, too, in which she attended a Jonas Brothers concert. While her brothers prepare for a gruelling season of basketball, along with her husband in Israel, she is setting up her new home.
