The injury woes never seem to stop for the Phoenix Suns. Following the star guard Bradley Beal’s nose injury against the Indiana Pacers, Devin Booker has also joined him. Beal suffered a nasty blow to his face and left the arena. And, he stepped onto the court, wearing a protective face mask in the following games, until he again missed the game tonight, owing to a left hamstring injury.
During tonight’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, Booker was spotted bleeding from his mouth after taking an elbow to the face from Mavs’ Kyrie Irving in the second half. However, the star didn’t leave the floor and continued to play after the first aid. Soon after the injury, the fans swarmed the social media comments to enquiring about the star.

That should be a flagrant 2. It was targeting. On the replay you can see Kyrie locked on Bookers face and completely IGNORES the hoop.

Following the injury, the refs reviewed the play and called offensive foul on Kyrie Irving. Even though it was unintentional, refs considered it as a foul. However, it didn’t seem to have impressed the Mavs’ crowd as they chanted, ‘You s**k’.

The impact on the court didn’t seem to affect the Suns as they continued to have the lead over the Mavs in the first half. However, things took a turn in the second half when Irving and Luka Doncic pressed on the gas and dropped 17 points together to take the Mavs lead to 5 points in the third quarter. And, they further pushed the lead to double digits in the last quarter, setting the route for a comfortable victory.
The Suns in return fought back until the last minute. But, it was the Mavs who dominated the second half to register a comfortable 113-123 win. Luka and Kyrie added 41 and 29 points respectively.

Leaving the game results aside, let’s take a look at the unusual face injuries that has impacted both sides.
Uncanny facial injuries of NBA
In the recent times, facial injury isn’t anything new for the Mavericks as well. The franchise superstar Luka Doncic suffered an injury on his nose and required a surgery to fix it. He was also recommended a face mask to protect his nose, which he refused to wear.
Other than that, the Mavs rookie Dereck Lively II also sustained a nasal fracture and missed a few games. He later returned a few days ago before the All-Star weekend. Since then, he has been wearing a face mask on the court to protect his injury.

In tonight’s game, Luka almost injured his nose again in the last quarter. When Suns’ Grayson Allen accidentally pushed the ball on to Doncic’s nose, the game paused for a bit. Fortunately, it didn’t turn out to be anything serious.
