LeBron James, the veteran player for the Los Angeles Lakers, recently learned that he wasn’t the NBA’s oldest active player. And his reaction to the information was nothing short of amusing. Despite taking jabs about his age from NBA teammates and opponents alike, LeBron has always embraced the wisdom that comes with his age. Being 38 years old, he seems to take satisfaction in being one of the league’s oldest players. However, when he realized he wasn’t at the top of the age ladder, amusing disappointment quickly replaced this sensation of pride.

When LeBron stumbled across a graph showing the oldest active NBA player at the time, the realization struck him. The Lakers forward responded with a humorous reply on his story, “Who’s 1st?? Thought I was the ?? [oldest].”

The honor of being the oldest player in the league goes to Warriors’ legend, Andre Iguodala(39 YO).

The Philadelphia 76ers drafted Iguodala with the ninth overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. However, it was his stint with the Warriors that really cemented his place in the history of the sport. Iguodala was an important member of the Warriors’ squad who helped the team win four NBA championships. His accomplishments were especially noticeable during the 2015 Finals, as he won Finals MVP honors.

LeBron received permission to continue donning No. 6 despite the NBA’s decision to retire the number across the league to honor Russell. However, he has moved back to No. 23 out of profound respect for the renowned legend.
