The same applies to Austin Reaves and Anthony Edwards. The two have released their first signature sneakers within one month. Edwards released his shoe under German giants Adidas while Reaves released it under the Chinese brand, Rigorer.

Named ‘Showtime’ AR1, the Los Angeles Lakers youngster’s shoe debuted across the world at an affordable price of $100. Interestingly, it features only one colorway which makes it unique. The ‘Showtime’ sneaker comes in the iconic Laker colors of purple and gold.

On the other hand, the AE1 sneaker by Anthony Edwards was released on September 25th, 2023. Unlike Reaves’ shoes, it comes in three popular colorways. The sneaker debuted in a neutral white and black option, alongside a terracotta orange, as well as a true orange and black iteration.

The sleek sneaker has a carefully constructed flexible knit upper, making room for ventilation and breathability. The AE1 will hit markets worldwide during the holiday season in December 2023.

Who had a better season opener?

Both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves faced defeats in their opening fixtures for the 2023-24 season. The Denver Nuggets got the better of the Lake Show while the Minnesota Timberwolves couldn’t get past the Toronto Raptors.

Although the Timberwolves lost the game 97-94, Edwards had a fantastic outing. The NBA All-Star scored 26 points, 1 assist, and 14 rebounds while converting all of his 6 free throws.

On the other hand, Reaves had a dismal season opener. The 25-year-old scored 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in a losing effort against Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets.

Having spent the summer together for Team USA at the FIBA World Cup, both Reaves and Anthony Edwards will be the ones to watch out for this season.
