After DeMar DeRozan’s “Frustrated” Revelation, Nikola Vucevic Gets Brutally Honest After Suffering Embarrassing Loss vs Nets

The writing was on the walls for the Chicago Bulls after they missed out on a playoff berth last season. The current Bulls roster isn’t suited for a playoff spot, let alone their ambitions to contend for a title. Nevertheless, the Bulls front office decided to run it back with the core of DeRozan, LaVine, and Vucevic. However, the Bulls have had a horrid start to the new season, as well.

The Bulls have won just five games this season and their recent loss to the Brooklyn Nets has compounded their misery. Post-match, Bulls’ star Nikola Vucevic made an honest admission about his team’s struggles.

The reason behind Chicago’s horrid start

In the past few seasons, the Bulls have fallen short of expectations, struggling to establish themselves as a formidable presence in the league. Once synonymous with success, they have now become one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NBA in recent years.  This is glaringly evident in the current season, with the front office resisting a rebuild despite dismal outcomes in recent games. Chicago currently occupies the 13th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, with 5 wins and 13 defeats.

After suffering their 13th loss of the season, Bulls center Nikola Vucevic made an honest assessment of Chicago’s current predicament. He said,We don’t do a good enough job communicating to each other or honoring the call when somebody calls [coverage]. Even if it’s wrong, we have to honor the person who feels that that’s the right call.”

While untimely injuries to Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso have posed challenges, the current Chicago rosters’ potential appears limited to securing a play-in spot. DeMar DeRozan also spoke about the team’s struggles after their loss to the Toronto Raptors. In a post-match interview, DeRozan said,I’m beyond frustrated. And I think it’s rightfully so as a competitor. Everybody in this locker room is frustrated.” After seeing the dismal state of their beloved team, the Bulls fans would fondly reminisce about their heydays of the 90s.
