Dell Curry made Stephen Curry watch the NBA action up close since he was a toddler. Watching his dad nail down tough jumpers made for a brilliant study. The father and son duo has thus shared many moments during his formative years. Apart from two, mother Sonya, sister Sydel, and brother Seth have also been the constants through this journey. Hooping has indeed been the central bonding mechanism.
They have seen their son battle an eye ailment and work his way up. Alongside that, the family also shares an addiction.

Stephen Curry and his strange addiction
Curry has a cornea-related condition called Keratoconus. Due to this, the Guard could not see clearly and had blurred vision. He had to wear contact lenses to play, but he had to shoot through vision troubles for most parts.
However, his latest contact lenses are designed specially to combat Keratoconus, a condition that regular contact lenses can’t fix. Since then, he has performed much better.
Considering his performances with or without blurred vision, every fan knows the level he can hit. This can make one believe he follows a strict diet and will never engage in excesses of a particular food.
In the most bewildering turn, Curry happens to be a popcorn addict. He developed this habit as a kid when he watched his father playing on the floor. The whole Curry family munched their way through popcorn and Steph only became more attached to this diet as he grew older.

His addiction is so deep that even his pre-game meal is popcorn. Instead of taking a lightweight diet, the Guard likes to munch on popcorn to get himself going. When he goes to road games, he has to make special preparations to have his favorite meal ready.
In a 2019 interview with the New York Times, the sharpshooter stated, “If it’s really good, I’m eating it before the game, at halftime, and after”. The Guard is such a popcorn addict that he even has graded popcorn for every arena.
Curry’s love for popcorn is deep
When the New York Times in the 2018-19 season asked him to grade the popcorn across the arenas, he not only offered to do so but also had a gradation index. His parameters included freshness, saltiness, crunchiness, butter, and presentation. Based on the above parameters, he graded them 1-5 across 29 NBA arenas.
In his list, Dallas Mavericks’ Amway Center came at the top with a score of 24. Brooklyn Nets’ home Barclays Center and Miami Heat’s American Airlines Center got big scores too.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Clippers/Lakers’ home-floor crypto.com (then known as Staples Center) Arena was at the bottom of his list. The Guard remembers all the above parameters across arenas, proving his love for the snack.
