The Golden State Warriors shocked the world with their blockbuster off-season move. After a disappointing 2022-23 NBA season, the Warriors have strengthened their side by acquiring Chris Paul from the Washington Wizards.
The 38-year-old point guard carries a whopping $75M contract with him. However, with Paul’s arrival, NBA fans have started questioning the age factor of their latest addition. What does his new teammate and nine-time All-Star, Stephen Curry, have to say on the issue?

Stephen Curry weighs in on Chris Paul’s age concerns
With Chris Paul joining forces with Curry, the Warriors have stacked their roster with All-Star-level talent. While fans rejoiced about the 38-year-old’s arrival in the Dub Nation, some were concerned about his impact, considering his age.
The trade comes as the Warriors possess a seasoned core already. The addition of Paul adds to the number of veterans. However, Stephen Curry, himself in his 30s, seemed unbothered by this.

In a recent interview, Curry was asked to share his thoughts on the Warriors’ move of acquiring Paul. The four-time NBA champion seemed excited to team up with the 38-year-old, before answering why the age factor didn’t matter.
"To add a guy like that knows how to run an offense… I know everybody gonna talk about our age but it's about trying to put the pieces together with a lot of high IQ guys that know how to play basketball."

“I know everybody gonna talk about our age, but it’s just about trying to put the pieces together with a lot of high IQ guys that know how to play basketball,” Curry said about his aging Warriors squad.
While Curry dismissed the age issue, Chris Paul’s massive contract could have huge implications on the Warriors’ salary cap. Can ‘CP3’ justify his new team’s spending spree?

When it comes to elevating rosters, Chris Paul is truly a maestro. The 38-year-old ‘Point God’ has been a brilliant leader his entire career. His skills have elevated every one of his teams into playoff contenders. Named on the NBA Top 75 Player List, Paul’s resume as a player is nothing short of remarkable.
Paul, despite his age, played a pivotal role in the Phoenix Suns‘ glorious playoff runs in the past 3 years, while also reaching the Finals in 2021. The 12-time All-Star has always been hailed for his basketball IQ and sheer playmaking brilliance.
