After a series of controversial events on social media, 2016 NBA champion Kyrie Irving faced a lot of flak in December 2022. Due to this, Nike ended its long 8-year partnership with the Dallas Mavericks star. Months after signing a deal with Chinese giants, Anta, Irving has finally given his fans a huge update.

Sources on the internet have confirmed that Irving has debuted his new sneaker after months of speculation around his mysterious deal with Anta.

Kyrie Irving debuts exciting new sneaker

Irving was in Abu Dhabi recently ahead of the 2023-24 season training camp. During one of his workouts, the 8-time NBA All-Star debuted the freshly launched Anta Shock Wave 5 Pro. Interestingly, Irving wore the ‘Halloween’ edition which comes in one colorway.

The sneaker is already on sale on trusted websites around the world. It is priced at $188 as per kickscrew. This is one of Kyrie’s first hype drops ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season where he plays with Luka Doncic in search of his second NBA championship. Irving is not only the face of Anta, but he also plays a huge role in the administration of the company. After all, he serves as the Chief Creative Officer.

Previously, he was famously signed to Nike which earned him around $11 million from 2014 to 2022. Things ended between the Mavs star and the $144 billion worth of apparel giants.

Can Irving pass LeBron James with his deal?

Four-time NBA champion and Irving’s ex-teammate, LeBron James, is also signed to Nike and has earned a fortune with them. In 2015, James was signed to a lifetime deal which was reported to be the largest single-athlete guaranteed deal in history.

However, we don’t know any details about the Irving deal with ANTA. Considering that Irving also plays an executive role within the company, he might well earn more than LeBron. Interestingly, details about James’ deals are not public but it has helped him become the first active NBA star to become a billionaire.
