The Minnesota Timberwolves have entered the NBA Preseason with a mission. After downing Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving 111:99 in the first game. It was a half-time beatdown and despite nabbing 25, Doncic’s team was thoroughly outplayed. This was repeated in their second preseason meeting as well. After Karl Anthony-Towns dropped 20 points in 17 minutes during the opening game, now it is Anthony Edwards’ turn. And he has responded in his usual fashion.
His incredible moves once again have the fans buzzing. They can’t help but see Michael Jordan in him.

Luka Doncic and his team lagging behind
Ant didn’t play in the first Abu Dhabi game but the team sizzled even without him. But now that he is back, excitement has taken a huge flight. In the first half of the second, Edwards had already registered 13 points by half-time. He and Anthony-Towns combined for 27 points and that is going to be a common sight during the Regular Season.
During one of the plays, Edwards displayed his varied arsenal. Internet sensation Rob Perez aka worldwidewod posted a video showcasing his impressive reporterie. First, he makes two between-the-legs dribbles to ward off a pesky Maxi Kleber. Then help defender Richuan Holmes joins Kleber. However, using a pivot move in the post just on the outskirts of the paint, he nails a turn-around jumper.

The separation is a thing of beauty and the form during the fadeaway showcases the amount of work he has put in. Both Holmes and Kleber are taller than the amazing scorer but couldn’t enter his shooting space. He then nailed a banker from mid-range. He was making such plays during the last season to stun even top-notch players and raised the bar to the max in the first round against the Nuggets. During the FIBA World Cup, he kept working on this fadeaway move and has now mastered it.
The way he turns around and nails the shot, Michael Jordan’s image jumps to many minds. He has been drawing these comparisons persistently during the summer. Now, the fans are once again thrilled to dish out the MJ-Ant comparisons.
Edwards has built a MJ-cult status
In a huge praise, someone calls him “The Second Coming” of MJ:
