In their fourth back-to-back win, the Minnesota Timberwolves took home a 118-103 win against the Grizzlies on Thursday. The game undoubtedly highlighted the greatness of young star Anthony Edwards. Over 34 minutes, the former NBA All-Star reserve dropped 28 points and contributed five rebounds and five assists. However, the moment that sealed the deal for Anthony was his self-ally oop in the third quarter that sent the whole stadium into a frenzy.

Everyone’s jaw was on the floor, and no one was more impressed than ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith. He takes matters into his own hands and lavished Anthony with the highest level of praise while urging the NBA to show more of the young maestro on television.

Impressed by Ant-Man’s performance, Stephen A. Smith compares him to the greats in the NBA. This might be a shocker for some, considering how young Ant still is. But that doesn’t hold back Stephen A. from speaking his mind. “Listen to what I’m saying to you on national television, right now when I see Anthony Edwards, I see in the making Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant, MJ,” the radio host says. Credit where due, Ant’s performance on Thursday warrants this level of acknowledgment.

Stephen A. doesn’t stop there; he urges the league to broadcast the Wolves’ games more frequently on television because to him, witnessing Ant in action is a huge treat. He states, “He is special. He ain’t there yet, in terms of the names I mentioned but he’s coming and he is box-office-worthy…He is a showstopper. I want the NBA to put the Minnesota Timberwolves on national television even more.” Hilariously, Stephen A. also adds that although he dislikes the cold weather, he wouldn’t mind traveling to Minnesota “to see that brother” play, referring to Ant.

The moment that changed it all for Ant-Man

With less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter, Ant drove the ball from inside the 3-point line and executed a beautiful pump-fake at the free-throw line that sent defender Xavier Tillman flying. Without wasting a moment, Ant then threw the ball off the backboard and went in for a powerful dunk. This was enough to cause the stadium to burst into excitement.

Before this, Memphis was leading 81-75; Ant-Man’s magnificent self-ally oop was enough to pump up the adrenaline for the Wolves who quickly caught up with the Grizzlies. Ant scored 26 of his 28 points in the second half, which was detrimental in tipping the favors toward the Wolves. After this game, we can only expect him to pull off even more impressive stunts.
