NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley did not mince his words when the topic of Anthony Edwards came up on Inside The NBA. He went in on the Minnesota Timberwolves forward, lambasting his recent performances. Well, the Ant-Man responded perfectly during the Clippers game, although not before making a wholesome gesture toward a certain fan. But more on that later.

On Inside the NBA show, Chuck opined the T-Wolves’ guard’s game had greatly regressed. When asked why, he responded, “He’s taking too many threes, in my opinion.” To which Shaq added, “Way too many.” Charles continued, “I personally think he’s regressed and become a jump-shooter. He’s not aggressive, he’s gonna have to become more of a leader.”

He also made a scathing remark on the parallels drawn between Ant-Man and Michael Jordan. Chuck said, “They just both black. He not Michael Jordan.” Even though Barkley clarified he meant no disrespect, Edwards doesn’t necessarily feel the same. And during the Clippers game right after scoring, Edwards hollered at the camera, “They said I fell off… Don’t worry about me! Don’t worry about me!”

Choosing to address Barkley’s comments on national TV was certainly a bold move on Ant-Man’s part. However, when you consider that he’s almost been carrying the Minnesota team, it’s understandable why he’s bothered by Chuck’s opinion. After all, he dropped a career-high 53 points against the Pistons, 32 against the Pelicans, and 37 against the Clippers, after Charles made these comments.

In no world are these the stats of a player who’s supposedly regressing? The only thing different about Anthony Edwards recently is that his game-day uniform has a slight change. And fair warning, the reason may bring you to tears!

Anthony Edwards makes a heart-warming change to his uniform

After his sensational performance against the Detroit Pistons, Anthony Edwards met with a fan that they’ll both remember forever. Edwards met with Luca, a 6-year-old fan of the T-Wolves who is battling leukemia. Luca was courtside during the game, holding a sign that said, “To Do: 1. Beat Cancer 2. Be the Next MJ.” Anthony Edwards was genuinely amused by the sign, telling Luca he loved it, even signing it for the young fan.

Luca also handed the Minnesota forward a gift in the form of an orange wristband. Edwards, greatly moved by this gesture, made a declaration. Proclaiming to the young fan, he said, “OK, you know what Luca? I’ll wear this for the rest of my career on my left armband just for you, alright?”

Edwards then accompanied Luca to the T-Wolves’ locker room, introducing him to the rest of the Minnesota squad, who also received wristbands.

Eagle-eyed viewers will have seen this wristband on Edwards’ arm in the victories against the Clippers and now the New Orleans Pelicans. Seemingly, Ant-Man lives by his words to Luca and may don the wristband for years to come. Moments like these make us remember why we love this game!
