The Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets are set to face off against each other for a second time during the ongoing Six Game Playoffs series. Before their first playoff game of the season, the Lakers held a 2-8 win record against the Nuggets. After the latter defeated them by a score of 114-103, that losing streak has gone up to 9. With the hope of avoiding further humiliation, the LA team will be looking to prevent any of their past mistakes and use their offensive roster to its fullest extent. Much of the same would depend on the availability of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the two leading scorers for the franchise this season. Thanks to a recent update, Lakers fans won’t have to worry much about that aspect.

A few hours ago, ‘The Sporting Tribune’ reporter Lauren Jones took to her official X account to highlight details from the Lakers’ recently released injury report. According to it, both LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been listed as ‘probable’. While it’s not a guarantee, the status confirms that there is a good chance that both players will be present at the Ball Arena in Colorado for the upcoming game. Cam Reddish, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Christian Wood remain listed as ‘OUT’. Jalen Hood-Schifino, who has been unavailable since mid-March, joins them.

LeBron James has been suffering from left ankle peroneal tendinopathy for the past couple of months. After he opted for surgery during the All-Star game, the player has become a common part of the injury report, with his status shifting occasionally. While the injury has caused him to miss out on some crucial games, recent history has shown that the player has made an appearance for most games where he has been listed as ‘probable’.

Anthony Davis had primarily been troubled with an Achilles injury during the regular season. This time, however, he is on the report for his lower back soreness. While it is not confirmed whether a specific game caused him to develop the same, the player has stated that his back was bothering him during the Lakers clash against the New Orleans Pelicans. Despite this, Davis managed to drop 20 points during the game.

With the exception of Vlatko Cancar, who hasn’t played a single game during the ongoing NBA tournament, no other player is listed on the Denver Nuggets’ injury Report. Point guard Colin Gillespie, who has been absent since late March, briefly appeared on the report released before the Nuggets’ clash against the Grizzles. Gillespie is also not expected to be present during the Lakers game.

The Denver Nuggets are the one team that the current Lakers roster does not seem to have figured out till now. Whether it’s the offensive prowess of star player Nikola Jokic or the defensive capabilities of the roster as a whole, the LA team has a hard time getting the best of their long-time rivals. However, that hasn’t stopped LeBron James and Anthony Davis from doing their best.

During his last 10 games against the Nuggets, LeBron has secured an average score of 26.6 points, 8 rebounds, and 8.1 assists to his name. He has made 10-16 field goals per game, 3-5 three-pointers, and 4-5 free throws. Davis has almost remained on the same level through his average score of 23.8 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. His shooting ability, however, is of a mixed nature. While he has averaged 12-23 field goals, his three-pointer stat is 0-4. The same, however, is balanced out by his 8–9 free throws.

During the last playoff game, the duo dropped a combined 59 points to add to the Lakers’ 103. However, a poor performance from D’Angelo Russell prevented the team from scoring high enough to close the gap between them and the Nuggets. Both players’ availability is a requirement for the Lakers’ success, especially during this crucial stage.
