Stephen Curry made a calm statement as the Dubs hang by a thin thread. The Golden State Warriors‘ chance at the postseason has been fading away by every passing game. In the last 10 games, the Warriors have lost 6 games and the Houston Rockets‘ sudden 8-game winning streak has put the Dubs in a tricky situation. While the Rockets are just two wins away from snatching the 10th spot, Steph showed confidence with a composed mindset.

During the post-game press conference, one of the reporters inquired about the team’s concerning situation. Steph confidently said, “Tough one for sure, but there are plenty of games left… it’s just a matter of, ‘can we do it?'” The Dubs currently hold a 5-game road stretch, beginning with a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Notably, the team has had a better road record than home, so hopefully, the Dubs can turn it around.

The Warriors had a completely different narrative set around them after their break-out run in February. Following a few tweaks in the line-up, the Dubs set off on a dominant run and cemented their position at the 10th spot. Jonathan Kuminga and Trayce Jackson-Davis played a crucial role in the massive turnaround the Warriors witnessed.

However, the momentum suffered a bruise when the team suffered a frustrating loss against the Chicago Bulls, 125-122. The team not only lost a close game but also saw their superstar Stephen Curry in the clutch moment with an ankle sprain. The instance further placed him out for  the next three games, two of which the inflicted defeat upon the Dubs.

Since then, the Dubs have been struggling to get back to their winning ways. Adding on, the Rockets have been chasing them with their impressive 8-game winning streak.

Jalen Green and the Rockets’ streak makes path difficult for Warriors

Just like the Warriors found their zeal in February, the Rockets have found it in this month and Jalen Green has been the breakout star in this stretch. In the last eleven games he played, the guard has produced an average of 27.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game with a high score of 42 points.

Notably, the Rockets were able to do this without their star center Alperen Sengun. The team could turn more lethal once he returns from his injury. They are currently in the 11th seed with a 35-35 record and two wins away from snatching the 10th spot from Warriors. The stretch has been the Rockets’ longest winning streak since November 2019.
