It’s a universal belief, often taken as a fact, that no matter how old a person gets, their relationship with their mother remains the same. NBA fans have noticed this behavior in Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who continues to share a loving relationship with his mother, Gloria, even today. Having been a constant part of her son’s life for 39 years now, she often shows support for her son’s basketball career by showing up to his games or practice sessions. A hilarious incident took place during one such recent game.

Fans troll LeBron James’ wholesome moment by referencing Lakers president Jeanie Buss

A few hours ago, a clip started to go viral on X. It featured LeBron James sharing an embrace with his mother and then heading off in a separate direction. As Gloria called out to her son by asking “Staying out?”, the 39-year-old waved his left hand in the air and hurriedly exclaimed, “I don’t know. Go home”. Gloria found the last two words quite assuming, as she repeated them and let out an audible laugh.

It didn’t take long for people on X to draw their conclusions about what was ‘really’ going on. One user left a hilarious comment that read “Ima be at Jeanie crib ma”. This comment was a reference to a recent incident that occurred when LeBron, while sitting courtside during a game, was seen cozying up to Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and her friend Linda Rambis.

While there was nothing abnormal with the player sharing a conversation with the team president, the moment started to gain traction on social media after both Buss and her friend proceeded to place their arms around LeBron at one point of time.

Just like the above-mentioned X user, other people on social media were quick to state their opinion on where the NBA player was “staying out”. One user wrote “Jeanie told him pull up” without any hesitation.

Looking at what the other people in the comments section were doing, another social media user wrote “Bro had a change of plans” and highlighted a picture of the recent viral moment between the 4x NBA champion and Buss.

An individual stated his belief that LeBron’s outing may have more to do with NBA related business. He also shared a picture of the viral moment on his feed. However, he edited out the faces of Buss and Rambis and placed the faces of NBA commissioner Adam Silver and ESPN sportswriter Brian Windhorst instead of them. The commenter also wrote a caption that read “Don’t wait up”, accompanied by three emojis.

For some viewers, LeBron’s wholesome moment with his mother rubbed off the wrong way. They allegedly felt that the way the Lakers star treated the 56-year-old was wrong. One of them took to the comments section to write “Ignored his mother and embarrassed her infront of cameras no way this yal goat”.

While LeBron James brushing off his mother was unusual, there is truth in the fact that all of us have done something like this to our parents during our teenage days. Given that the moment highlighted that LeBron and his mother continue to share the same loving dynamic as a teenage son and mother, the viral clip only helped to remind us of the affectionate relationship that the two share with each other.
