Dame Removes Doris Burke’s Verse

Damian Lillard has garnered a reputation for making deep three-pointers and hitting clutch shots when his team needs him the most. After ten years of loyal service to the Portland Trail Blazers, Dame requested for a trade after several failed attempts to win the NBA title. This offseason he got traded to the Bucks, where he will team up with Giannis Antetokounmpo to create one of the most feared duos in recent memory. Dame also is a very talented rapper. He has 509.6K monthly listeners on Spotify and has collaborated with industry superstars like Snoop Dogg and Lil Wayne.

In a recent interview, lead ESPN commentator Doris Burke revealed Dame cut her verse in one of his songs. She said, “Did you know I once got cut from a Damian Lillard track? I kid you not. He had me record lines, I didn’t make it”.

Burke has been working with ESPN since 1991 and has served as an analyst for national NBA games since 2017. She became the first woman to lend her voice as a game analyst for the 2020 NBA Finals. Doris Burke and Doc Rivers have been confirmed as the lead commentators by ESPN for the 2023-24 season.

Fans React to Burke’s Revelation

The Twitter-verse erupted after Doris Burke’s revelation went public. Fans chimed in on Twitter to put forward their theories and opinions. Fans were split with Dame’s decision to leave out Burke’s verse. Some fans supported Dame’s decision. A fan by the username of Augie Dog said, “Best decision he made all off season”, he certainly is a Blazers fan.

But some fans wanted to give Burke her chance and wanted to listen to her verse. A fan by the username of Stifle-Tower27 wrote, “Drop Doris’s bars” before tagging Dame.

Another user by the name of D’Courtland Christian wrote, “I kinda want to hear what it was”.
