The NBA world is still recovering from the major blow it received just over a week ago. James Harden headlined the most dramatic narrative that has played out this offseason, but in China, The Beard took it to another level. This naturally landed him in a heap of trouble from Adam Silver. But the 10-time All-Star seems to have put out a strong message.

Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers may not have liked Harden’s outrageous comments but The Beard definitely moved the needle in Philadelphia. Will his actions force the Sixers to make the highly demanded trade or not cannot be determined yet. However, the chances of any team wanting to keep a disgruntled star who has lashed out at their President of Basketball Operations publicly are slim. This is why a veteran sportscaster felt Harden must be content with his decision.

Veteran sportscaster claims James Harden does not mind the smoke

Despite dropping a bombshell of a speech in China,  James Harden seems completely unbothered. He has enjoyed his time watching soccer games and giving back to the community instead of regretting the bold move. Adam Silver and co. tried to discipline the former MVP, charging him with a whopping $100,000 fine. However, they are yet to make the impact on him that he did on the Sixers.

A veteran sportscaster, Rich Eisen took notice of Harden’s situation and had his say about the fiasco. Taking to his podcast, the 54-year-old shared his opinion on Harden’s mental state after shocking the world in China.

You know what he’s thinking wherever he is? Best $100,000 I’ve ever spent” said the Sports Emmy Award nominee. He added “I’m sure he’s not happy but I’m sure he’s had that much in a Honey Buns and in a bag in Vegas at one point. I’m sure he’s thinking, best $100,000 I’ve ever spent because I got it out there. I got it off my chest.

Rich Eisen made it clear Harden feels comfortable with his position. With the staggering wealth The Beard has amassed over the years, $100,000 definitely does not seem much. With his investments like Houston Dynamo F.C. and his whopping contract with Adidas, Harden has ensured that a move like his cannot cause him any trouble financially. But can he ensure his wish gets fulfilled?

The Beard’s wish may not be fulfilled

James Harden’s statements have had ripple effects in the NBA so far. While Adam Silver fined the Sixers guard for “public trade demands”, Damian Lillard stayed out of trouble while still getting his message heard. However, despite all the noise Harden has made surrounding his trade, he may have to start the season in the Sixers uniform again.

Although a trade cannot be ruled out at this point of the offseason, chances are, teams are settled in with their rosters. Given Harden’s performance last season, any team would welcome the services of the 2-time assist title winner. However, it is what they have to give away for to acquire his talents that will make them hesitant.
