The Klay Thompson controversy has not ended yet, and NBA insider Bobby Marks has given a banger remark regarding Andrew Wiggins‘ value as a player for the Golden State Warriors. Recently, the Warriors’ GM, Mike Dunleavy, stated that he wants Klay back on the roster. Interestingly, the statement came after the rumor regarding the star guard going to Orlando Magic this summer acquired the whole NBA community. This stance from Dunleavy has become firm after a statement by an ESPN insider.
On the YouTube show 95.7 The Game Live Stream, the host revealed a statement from ESPN insider Bobby Marks when he was asked about Klay Thompson. Bobby Marks stated about Klay, “Ah gosh! he’s still a $25 to $30 million dollar player.” However, when Bobby had to speak regarding Andrew Wiggins, the ESPN insider commented, “He is making $26 [million], yeah, that’s a little high.” Bobby seemed to be indirectly marking Klay as more valuable than Andrew Wiggins on the team.

Considering the abilities of Wiggins and Thompson, Bobby’s remark was on point. Klay Thompson has averaged 3.5 threes per game this season, keeping his 3-pointer shooting skill alive. On the other hand, Andrew Wiggins has only averaged 1.3 three points per game this season despite being six years younger than the Warriors’ shooting guard. Andrew Wiggins’ skills are duplicable by anyone having high athletic capabilities in the NBA. However, Thompson’s accuracy and tenacity to shoot 3-pointers leads to greater point probability for the Dubs.

According to Willard and Dibs show host Mark Willard, teams might prefer Klay Thompson over Wiggins due to his excellence as a shooting guard rather than being a jack of all trades like the latter.
Warriors’ GM Shuts Down Rumors Regarding Klay Thompson’s Departure
In his latest interaction with the press, when Warriors’ GM Mike Dunleavy was pressed with questions regarding Klay Thompson’s departure, he clearly stated the Warriors look to have him back. “We really really value him. There’s nothing that would make me think he wants to somewhere else or we don’t want him back. For that reason, I am hopeful, we can make it happen.” Dunleavy’s response came after rumors of Thompson having a strained relationship with Warriors’ forward Draymond Green.
