The Australian basketball star Ben Simmons became an overnight sensation after the blockbuster James Harden trade in 2022. After moving to the Brooklyn Nets, he faced a lot of criticism for his gameplay. Notably, fans widely trolled him for not making any play on the court. Amid these criticisms, 27-year-old star raised another controversy when he pulled out of his national team yet again ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Following that, the Australian National team’s head coach sent out a strong message to the Nets star.

Boomers head coach breaks silence after the Ben Simmons news

Ben Simmons cracked a massive $177,000,000 worth five-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2020. Importantly, he couldn’t last long in the franchise because of the James Harden trade. After that, he moved to the Nets and his performance took a massive dip.

Until his stint in the Sixers jersey, Simmons averaged a steady 16 points in every season. However, in the last season with the Nets, he averaged only 6.9 points. On top of that, he also suffered a back injury. Owing to the back injury, he pulled himself out of the Boomers’ side for the world cup.

Along with that, he sent out a message: “I’m not recruiting you… we’re not so, please Ben, play we don’t have anything if you don’t, we’re not like that.” Following that, he explained the pride in representing the Australian national side.
