The parade went off and running from the TD Garden. Champions Boston Celtics rode across the water on their boats flaunting the Larry O’Brien. The city was experiencing the joys of a championship for the first time since 2008. They glorified their franchise heroes. Jaylen Brown felt the love, Tatum was showered with praise, and others were given their respect too. But some Celtics fans decided to induce some toxicity during the parade and take a dig at their rivals, Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.

Irving, of course, has attached history with the franchise. During all three games in Boston, the arena was echoing with heinous KAI chants. The same was true for the parade. An entire section of Celtics fans at the parade chanted “f**k Kyrie”. At another end of the celebrations, some young fans decided to hand Irving’s Celtic jersey on a stick and march around to berate the crafty scorer.

At the same time, Luka Doncic wasn’t spared either. During the 4-1 Finals series, analysts burned the Slovenian for his excessive complaining and displeased actions. Crammed in the parade crowd, one fan decided to put his wit to the use. He designed a hoarding and wrote “Luka would be complaining about the traffic” to troll the 25-year-old.

Boston fans have had a reputation for being ruthless. Even a tough head like LeBron James claimed that he despises playing in Boston due to the shrewd nature of the crowds. Now, with a final claim at the championship, the fans are more enthusiastic than ever and are paying their dues in their traditional fashion.

Kyrie Irving has a whole history with the Celtics

Doncic got the burned end of the stick was a singular reason. He was the biggest trouble for the Celtics during the entire Finals. That’s the reason the Celtics fans have received additional pleasure in putting him down. However, their beef with Kyrie Irving is deep-rooted within the fanbase.

Irving was once been the leader of a young Celtic core that consisted of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown before their berth. During the renegotiation period, the eight-time All-Star uttered a promise. He claimed he would love to re-sign with the franchise. The fans adored him then. Months later, his move to the Brooklyn Nets was announced.

From that very day, Ivring has been seen as the villain. Over the years, he and the fans have had their fair share of exchanges. At peak tension, KAI even flashed the finger to fans when they met in the playoffs in 2022. Even though Irving congratulated the Celtics at the end of the Finals, it doesn’t seem like fans are ready to forgive him just yet.
