Iowa Hawkeyes baller Caitlin Clark has finally surpassed the mighty milestone of becoming the highest-scoring player of all time in the D1 NCAA Women’s Basketball. Thousands of eyes were glued to Clark and were waiting for her to finally achieve the top score as she played against Ohio State in a home match. Interestingly, she was also being watched by one of the NBA’s greatest players, LeBron James.

LeBron James added a tweet on X and wrote, “CONGRATS @CaitlinClark22 on becoming the All-Time leading scorer!! 🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣🪣. 🙏🏾🫡👑.” Interestingly, this stellar achievement of Caitlin Clark comes within just a day of a historical number reached by James as well.

LeBron James added a new milestone to his legacy in the NBA and added another feather to his moniker King James. Playing against the Denver Nuggets, he climbed the summit of 40,000 points on 2 March 2024 in a home game as well. While James was nine points short of the landmark score before breaking it, Caitlin Clark stood 18 points behind LSU’s previous record-holder Pete Maravich.

The Iowa Hawkeye surpassed the record that was 54 years strong with just 0.3 seconds remaining on the clock before the second half began. The Hawks fans held their breaths as she tied the record with a free throw, then smashed it with another. Interestingly, however, Caitlin Clark was so focused on the match, that she didn’t even realize that she became the all-time greatest. In fact, it wasn’t until the crowd erupted with cheers did she realized that she was on the other side of the horizon.

The packed Iowa Hawkeyes turf had the previous high-scoring monolith Pete Mavarich watching the match. Moreover, Clark’s childhood role model Maya Moore was also in attendance. NCAA basketball legend Lynette Woodward, whom Caitlin Clark turned into the third-best with her latest stint also cheered on for the young Hawkeye. Speaking about becoming the newest holder of the topmost status quo, Clark admitted not knowing about surpassing Maravich.

According to Caitlin Clark, “When they announced it and everybody screamed, that’s when I knew.” The laser-focused player added 35 points on the scoreboard to help her side crush Ohio State with a 93-83 victory. She also made nine assists and three steals to badger the opponents even more. Notably, the Iowa native will be entering the pool of players for the upcoming 2024 WNBA Draft.
