We don’t want to say jinx, but… With Dallas hosting the reigning champs, a little glam inside the American Airlines Center was warranted. Klay Thompson happens to have that. Brushing off all those breakup rumors, Megan Thee Stallion showed up for Klay and the Mavericks. Like any WAG, Meg had a tall order from her boyfriend. She may have postured too early because the Mavs have not turned last time’s win into an improvement. Now even Meg’s getting dragged into Dallas’ mounting frustrations with the Mavericks.

Before the game, the rapper was asked how many points she expected Klay Thompson to drop tonight against OKC. Her first demand was, “He better drop all them M——–ers.” Then she changed it to a more demure, “No, he’s gonna do his best.”

We liked the first answer better. And for the most part, fans were convinced Thompson would drop 50 points. Or at least double digits. They believe Meg has that impact with every Dallas game she attends. It would’ve been great if that were the case.

Instead, Klay Thompson finished with 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block while shooting 3/11 from the field and 2/6 from the three-point range in 22 minutes of playing time. Not one of his best nights, but a regular Monday for the Mavs. The team is now at 1-3 after losing 94-101 to the Thunder.

The one who dropped the points in his game: Anthony Davis. His game-high 26 even outdid SGA’s 23 points. Just not enough to help this team that hasn’t found its rhythm yet.

Dallas fans were already frustrated with the 0-3 start, including a blowout loss against the arguably inferior Wizards. A single win against the Raptors doesn’t redeem them. Especially when the frustrations have been carried forward since February 2, 2025. When it couldn’t look more like a trainwreck, Megan Thee Stallion is getting swept up too.

Megan Thee Stallion gets caught in Mavericks’ crossfire

Before the game, fans were hyped to have the “Savage” songstress courtside. But comments like “She look good 🔥” over her risque outfit turned to, “Damn who gon tell her 😓😂😂😂” No one had to. She was at the game and saw it all happen.

Klay Thompson didn’t meet her demand or fans’ who claimed, “Dropped em from fantasy, tell you that much.” Meg’s not having the Taylor Swift effect on the Chiefs despite how much fans were hoping for it. So now she’s caught in the crossfire.

The tamer ones claim, “I’m sure that why he’s has 3 points right now.” There are others following Megan’s ‘savage’ style to bluntly declare,  “She messing him up..🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️.. My guy 1-7..🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️😂😂” and, “she drained him of all his skill he playing like straight ahh this season.”

Her relationship with the Mavs star is helping her career. She’s embracing her “Lover Girl” era with the release of her new single. However, the same claims of distractions and jinx that get hurled at famous WAGs are following her too. At least, they’re ignoring the criticism well.

Thompson was optimistic going into the fourth game. Although when asked about that 0-3 start, he said, “We’re all competitive. It’s embarrassing, especially for myself after talking championship preseason, all that.”

After his single-digit performance, Megan Thee Stallion’s fans want her to cut her losses. “Ohhh lawd she gone leave him. Klay prime gone kid. 😂. Only way he score all points is when he getting dimed and dallas dont have PG😂😂😂. someone plz tell her this before she leave Klay.”

The criticism and the unsolicited advice aren’t going to break up this couple. Dallas has to face the other NBA finalists, the Pacers, on Wednesday. There’s a chance Klay will redeem himself here. For what it’s worth, “least he winning off the court.”
