Shannon Sharpe had some of his greatest moments working alongside Skip Bayless on Undisputed. As an ardent LeBron fan, he didn’t let Bayless have his way who backs Jordan. The LeBron James superfan didn’t miss out on any opportunity to showcase his love. He’d go to huge lengths to defend his favorite. Meanwhile, Bayless won’t let go of Jordan’s status as the GOAT. These two made for some prime-time content and captured the attention of millions.

When he left Undisputed, he had to make a radical switch. As he took his talents to First Take and joined Stephen A. Smith, the transition has had some hiccups, considering he worked with Bayless for more than six years. In this wake, his new partner-in-crime defends a recurring slip.

Stephen A. Smith defends Shannon Sharpe

Ever since appearing on First Take, Sharpe has built a strong bond full of mutual respect with Stephen A. Smith. The veteran analyst appeared on his YouTube show Club Shay Shay to discuss the same old GOAT debate that defines the two. However, on numerous occasions, the former NFL tight end has said “Skip” while talking to the long-time ESPN host. This is a result of working for six and a half years with Bayless. Fans took to social media and made fun of James’ diehard fans for these repeated errors.

During a segment of First Take discussing Giants’ loss and Kadarius Toney, the former NFL player said, ”Everything you said, he need to stay his a** off social media. Here is the thing Skip”. After he says “Skip“, he becomes frustrated and while punching the table with both his hands, he shouts “Stephen A”.

Reacting to this, the First Take host soothes him by saying, ”It’s okay my man, seven years, bro, it’s okay, don’t worry about the trolls”. He has defended this constant slip-up on First Take and also took to Twitter. He asked the ones mocking Sharpe for his gaffe to “calm the F$&@ down”.

He defended his co-host because he has been fond of him and recruited him from the day he left Undisputed. How is the new chapter of Sharpe shaping up then?
