As long as the Brooklyn Nets had Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, it was simply one of the most powerful NBA teams. It dominated the regular season with some serious numbers. However, it all came crashing down when both stars decided to leave the franchise mid-tournament in 2023. Following their exit, Ben Simmons remained the only All-Star on the side. The team suddenly lost their dominant dynamics. But now, the Australian baller has some exciting news for the Nets fans.
Up until the trade deadline in the 2022-23 season, the Nets secured a spot in top 4 of the Eastern Conference table. While the reasons behind the abrupt exit of the stars are still unclear, KD and Uncle Drew’s departure did derail the Net’s progress. The team barely managed to qualify for the postseason. Eventually, it got kicked out in the first round against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Amid the sudden roster change, 3x All-Star Ben Simmons also injured himself weeks before the postseason. As he returns to the roster from injury, he has a huge job cut out for him to lead the team. Fortunately for the Nets’ fans, Simmons seemed to be determined to deliver the best for the Brooklyn fans. The star baller joined in for a quick chat with Fox News from the camp of the Ben Simmons Family Foundation.
The star baller has taken up the mantle to serve the society and at the same time he revealed his plans for future. He added, “I just have one goal, to win… The team’s gonna come first.” Furthermore, he dropped an important message to the fans. He said, “Get ready for a great year, I think it’s gonna be exciting, we’re gonna have a lot of fun and give back to Brooklyn basketball.”
