The WNBA finals MVP of last season Chelsea Gray is in tremendous form for the Aces. She was at her aggressive best in the second game of the series against the New York Liberty. And it stirred quite a reaction from the basketball world. Draymond Green, who has made a name for himself by being a firestarter, gave a shout-out to Chelsea through a tweet. That tweet has garnered nearly 40k views and some hilarious fan reactions.
In the best-of-five finals, the Aces led by A’Ja Wilson, the defensive player of the year, has gotten the better of Breanna Stewart, the MVP of the league. The Aces lead the series by 2-0. And it is going to be an uphill climb for the New York Liberty to save the series, who cannot lose anymore games.

Chelsea Gray’s stat line in today’s game against the Liberty is 6 rebounds, 11 assists, and 14 points. That is a similar stat line that we are accustomed to seeing from Draymond Green. The Warriors’ core thrives on each other’s skill sets. Green’s court vision and defensive intensity unleash the Splash Brothers and make them unstoppable. While Chelsea plays a similar role for the Aces, she also has a superior midrange game to go along with her passing and rebounding skills. Players like Draymond and Chelsea are in high demand, but rarely to be found. Thus, it is no wonder that the Dubs’s defensive savant took his time to show his appreciation through a tweet for the Ace’s guard.
Chill out C Gray!

The New York Liberty should wake up soon from their slumber. Losing to the Aces with 104–76 point difference is a travesty. They have the talent to compete with the Vegas team, but somehow they come across as discombobulated. They missed their first nine shots of the game, and got themselves into a hole from which they could never come out.

Defense Wins Championships
“It started with our defense,” Gray said. “We kept our pressure up, our physicality and we were able to play with our flow offensively.”
Playing defense is more about willingness than skill. And at the same time, one’s aggression should not cloud the judgment or fog the vision.
