NBA 2k season is in full flow and delights. The game has announced several new features in its upcoming release. Segments like The W, The City, Mamba Moments, and Season 1 are a few of the grabbing factors. Among these, the ‘Crossplay’ has particularly caught the eye, adding to the anticipation for 2K24. The freshly revealed overall player ratings have fans and analysts buzzing. While some question why LeBron James isn’t the highest overall rating, others are thrilled about Victor Wembanyama’s impressive rookie rating.

Roots of NBA 2k spread over two decades, with their first version launching on November 10, 1999. To provide context, Allen Iverson graced the cover of the game for five consecutive years. The game has developed distinctly since then and contains several legendary players. Recently, Gilbert Arenas, the face of NBA Live 08, was made known for his 2k career. Interestingly, this sparked an intriguing reaction from Gilbert.

Josiah Johnson from Gil’s Arena asked the former all-star about his rookie season ratings on 2k. Gil suspected himself to be ’55 overall’.

Josiah corrected Arenas, “No, you were a 66 rookie year. 76, your second year. 82, your third year. 84, your fourth year. 90, your fifth year. 93, your sixth year, there are only 9 players ahead of ’em. 07-08, you were a 96.” Seeing the improving trajectory, Gilbert seemed to feel every game-winning play he made in his career.

“Only ones above you that year were Kobe, Duncan, LeBron, Wade, and KG,” Josiah added. Gibert felt elated at the moment; he excitedly expressed, “Moving up every year.” The state was too good that the sniper asked Josiah to repeat his statement once again.

Gilbert Arenas was an offensive threat in his playing days. Improving every year, he enabled himself to carry the burden of a franchise in his prime. Even though injuries paced his NBA success, his mixtapes are filled with contested jump shots and buzzer beaters. While 2k ratings don’t necessarily justify a player’s capabilities, they still garner direct attention from the players. Several star players have commented on their and other players’ ratings. Even though Gilbert realizes the boundaries of the game, he can’t help to be delighted with his historical ratings.

The eagerly awaited NBA 2K24 rating reveal has finally happened. Victor Wembanyama has officially secured the highest rookie rating in the upcoming release. He has better ratings than LeBron James and Zion Williamson did at the start of their 2k careers.

The first indication of Wembanyama’s high rating emerged early in July when Ronnie 2K hinted at his extraordinary talent. With this impressive score of 84, he overtakes Zion’s previous record for the highest-rated rookie of 81. In contrast, LeBron James had a rating of 78 in his debut 2K appearance before jumping to 88 overall the following year.

Wembanyama’s rating of 84 sets him notably apart from other rookies. For instance, Brandon Miller, the second pick in Round 1, only holds an overall rating of 78.
