He may be out of the playoff contention, but LeBron James is still able to generate massive headlines. Be it showing up for his son’s Draft combine game, sharing a picture of A’Ja Wilson’s shoes, or maybe taking a short trip to Cleaveland, James knows how to draw attention towards him. He did it this time while attending a matchup between the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, with his wife, Savannah, at the Rocket Mortgage Field House.

His presence at this game was enough to ignite all the speculations. Was it hinting at his possible return to the Cavs? After all, unlike his team, the Cavs have been going at it, stronger than ever with 48 or more wins in just the past two seasons. As many murmurs as there are right now, Skip Bayless, regarded as James’ biggest hater, weighed in rather loudly about Bron’s intentions.

On his ‘The Skip Bayless Show’, he said, “This is obviously a pretty cheap ploy on LeBron’s part. The drama king’s part, that most people just laughed off. I could hear Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka chuckling all the way from their headquarters in El Segundo, calling LeBron’s obvious bluff. LeBron ain’t going back to no Cleveland.”

“LeBron showing up for that game for the other day in Cleveland was just classic passive-aggressive message sending by LeBron. It was classic attempted high-IQ master media manipulation, down to the details of they waited to make sure that Donovan Mitchell was not going to play on his strained calf.”

Now, to give you more perspective, despite being out for this season, James still has an option – he can either opt into his player option and play another year for the Los Angeles Lakers or he could find greener pasters in the offseason. For many, his recent trip to Cleveland was taken as a sign of his inclination toward leaving. While of course there were people who thought this was just a hero returning home, most narratives going around point to the direction of Bron, possibly leaving the LA side soon.

As shared by ESPN, LeBron James and his wife were in town (Cleaveland) because of Mother’s Day weekend. Now the reason behind why they suddenly decided to attend the Cavs game is not known.

Skip Bayless sends the Lakers a warning!

Bayless felt it was his way of warning the Lakers about how he could very well leave in the offseason. It was meant to kick urgency into the minds of Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka. The American sports columnist isn’t a stranger to taking shots at LeBron James. Since his inception in the NBA, the renowned NBA expert has latched his claws into ‘King James’. Calling him nicknames such as ‘The Frozen One’, Bayless doesn’t leave many chances. This time was no different.

It might have been James sending a message. It might as well have been him innocently enjoying a game of his childhood franchise. Remember, LeBron James shares a lot of history with Cleveland as he was raised and brought up in Akron.

If they have confidence in LeBron James staying, Buss and Pelinka need to formulate a plan to maximize the results of his stay. At 39, he continues to defy the laws of aging. Continuing to play near peak, James is an indispensable asset to any team. The Lakers have been linked heavily with the likes of Trae Young and Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell. Now, it’s time for them to play their cards.
