The Boston Celtics won their NBA season opener against the New York Knicks. The scores read 108-104 in favor of the Celts. Needless to say, the win was not very easy for the Celtics. The end of the third round and the beginning of the fourth round saw the Knicks taking the lead.

The Celtics, though, kept coming back and eventually won the match. Celtics’ star player Jayson Tatum impressed everyone with a whopping 34 points. He opened up in front of the media after the match.

In a video uploaded by CLNS Media Boston Sports Network, Tatum faced several questions about their performance. He is evidently not very satisfied with how they played in the later minutes. “Yeah, I had too many turnovers… You know, the first game of the season… cut me some slack,” said Tatum.

‘Taco Jay’ expressed his concerns over the team’s rebounding. As the match progressed from time to time, they figured out what was going wrong. He said, “You know rebounding was kind of hurting us. They were getting second and third-chance opportunities. So once we started getting stops, giving them one chance, and we just were in control. We knew where we wanted to run, we knew whom we were trying to attack, and we executed.”

Stars like Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis added more value to the team. Jayson Tatum is all praise for Porzingis but engages in banter with Holiday. In a conversation before the game, caught by ESPN, Tatum labeled Holiday as ‘old’. Holiday, 33, is not the oldest player in the Celtics team. Their off-the-field banter was well appreciated by the fans.
