After their win against Serbia, Mortiz Wanger and the rest of Team Germany were being interviewed by reporters. That is when one reporter asked how it felt being the world champion. To that, Wagner replied, “Day I say world champion? Dare I say it.”

Wagner wanted to no part of all the drama that had ensued due to this debate and wisely avoided giving a controversial answer.

A well-deserved win for Germany

Team Germany beat Team Serbia with a final score of 83-77. The German team was led by none other than Dennis Schroder who scored 28 points in the championship game, being named the MVP as well.
