Drake singles out DeMar DeRozan amid Vince Carter’s emotional night! We all know why the superstar rapper was behind the Sacramento Kings forward. For those who don’t know, DeRozan was featured in Kendrick Lamar’s famous diss track, Not Like Us. This definitely didn’t sit well with Drake. Tonight, DeRoz’s return to Scotiabank Arena amid Carter’s jersey retirement ceremony didn’t end well, as Drizzy dropped bars to diss him.

Drake, who is an untold ambassador of the Raptors, was calling the game from the commentator’s desk. Importantly, he had something unusual to say about DeRozan amid his praise for Vince Carter. The Basketball HoF became the first Raptors player to have their jersey retired. Fans, who assembled for the game against the Kings, witnessed the emotional ceremony as Carter’s jersey ascended to the rafters. Moreover, the legend also delivered a 30-minute-long tear-filled speech, making it a warm occasion.

Despite the emotional scenes in the arena, Drake didn’t hesitate to get back at DeRozan, as he said, “If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll pull that thing down myself.” Moreover, he also added, “Unfortunately, we are playing this goof tonight, but it is what it is,” referring to the new Sac Town player.

It’s quite unfortunate for DeRozan to receive such treatment, especially for someone who had played in the franchise for close to a decade. Notably, the Compton Kid’s departure from the Raptors’ fold wasn’t an easy one. In fact, it had put him in a bad mental state. Speaking of it, DeRozan said, “I think ever since I kind of like, like left Toronto, like I never found like an emotional connection to where I was at in the sense of like I needed to like… I never had that.” It’s undeniably tough for DeRozan to listen to such a statement in a place that he considered home.

DeMar DeRozan responds to Drake’s harsh statement!

DeRoz already had reporters knocking at his door when he appeared on Kendrick Lamar’s music video. It’s natural for anyone to know if he had any beef with Drake. Surprisingly, the star forward had a very laid-back answer. He said, “Drake’s still my man, still my man, none of it changed… At the end of the day, it’s music, entertainment. Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint and they battled it out.”

However, DeRozan might have understood that Drake didn’t align with his standpoint after tonight’s game. And once again, the reporters asked for the player’s reaction to the rapper’s cold statement on Live TV, specifically pointing out the statement where Drake said he’d bring down the banner himself if the Raptors ever raise it for DeRozan.

This time around, DeeBo has learned his lesson, as he dropped an almost perfect reply, saying, “He gone have a long way to climb before he tears it down, I’ll tell you that.” Well, what will this even lead to? Will Kendrick Lamar and DeRozan once again team up for a diss track? Or are we about to get a song from Drake? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
