The Phoenix Suns played their most awaited game last night against the Brooklyn Nets. It was important because the team stepped on the court with its Big 3 for the first time in the season. While the anticipation around the debut was sky-high, it didn’t serve up to it. Eventually, they did bite the dust. However, the franchise leader Devin Booker seemed unfazed by the loss, as hours later, he took time to appreciate rapper Drake for his balling skills.

Taking to his Instagram stories, he gave a compliment to Rapper Drake on his video of playing basketball, albeit maybe he was complimenting something else entirely. After the disappointing loss, the franchise spearhead took his time out to show some love to his best buddy.

Booker took to his IG stories and shared Drake’s recent post where he was having a go at the bucket alone. In the video, Drake dribbled the ball near the paint and dropped a layup. Followed by a jump shot. Along with it, Booker wrote, “Footwork,” with a salute emoji. In the video, Drake can be seen donning D-Book’s signature sneakers, The Book 1. It is unclear whether the baller appreciated the rapper’s balling skills or thanked him for wearing his signature shoes. But given that the rapper looked awkward with the ball, it seems like a sly compliment from Booker, aimed more that what’s on the feet than their movement.

Moreover, Drake wasn’t just hooping. In the same IG post that the rapper shared (which Booker then posted in his stories), he was also seen playing pickleball.

Devin Booker and Drake have maintained a bond since his rookie season. The singer initially donned the Booker’s jersey on his Summer Sixteen Tour in Phoenix and gave a shout-out to the star. Following that, the duo have had friendly exchanges both on social media as well as on public platforms. Even in Drake’s latest tour, It’s All a Blur, the Suns guard walked Drake on to the stage during the Phoenix live performance. In the same spirit, the star rapper donned the signature shoe line of Booker multiple times.

Earlier, Booker had a disappointing outing despite leading the Suns’ offense with 34 points, supported by Kevin Durant‘s 27 points and Bradley Beal‘s 14 points. But, the Suns couldn’t hold off the Nets defensively, as they maintained a steady lead throughout the game.

During the rapper’s latest tour around the country, he just didn’t give a shout-out to the star in his Phoenix performance, but also gave a glimpse of Booker’s signature shoe.

Drake wore the shoe during his performance. The bright clay orange sneakers stood out on the glittering stage. Moreover, he also sent out a promising text to the guard after the performance.
