The Phoenix Suns and totally unexpected trade rumors have been synonymous this season. While Bradley Beal has been at the center of most of them, his teammate Devin Booker has also felt the heat to a certain degree. Amid all the drama, though, the Suns still have managed to keep themselves competitive, and they recently received some good news about their biggest superstar.

Well, for the 15th time in his career, legend Kevin Durant was named to the All-Star team! With this, the Phoenix veteran is tied with Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Shaquille O’Neal for the 4th most All-Star selections in NBA history. Durant has been brilliant this season averaging 27.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. On the other hand, his partner in crime, Booker, who didn’t make the cut as a starter but who could still slide in as a reserve after HC voting soon, had a critical viewpoint after playing alongside KD.

Well, Devin Booker stated that everyone only tries to take something from The Slim Reaper’s game and apply it to their own, putting ‘self creativity’ on the backseat. “That’s everybody’s problem, trying to take from KD’s game. You quickly understand he’s just 1-of-1. There’s no other player to ever do what he does, and there won’t be one. So I try to stay in my own lane in that regard,” he stated.

However, apart from this, Booker had nothing but praise for his teammate. Booker spoke about the Slim Reaper’s 15th All-Star selection. “It’s a true testament to his work ethic and how much he loves the game of basketball… You know with him, you’re gonna get it every time he gets on the floor. It’s inspiring to be around,” said D-Book. Interestingly, KD has not only been named 15 times as an All-Star but also as a starter 13 times! Booker then also went on to address the rumors dangling around his name.

“Nothing surprises you…”: Devin Booker breaks his silence on trade rumors

Firstly, it is important to mention that Devin Booker has remained silent for most of the Jimmy Butler to Phoenix saga. The 28-year-old voiced his opinion on the matter, as at the end of the day, trade rumors are the harsh reality, and neither Beal nor Booker can run away from it. While speaking to AZCentral’s Duane Rankin, Booker talked about taking everything, one game at a time. “Nothing surprises you at the moment,” said Booker. “A lot of things you hear end up never happening.”

“Some things that you never hear end up happening. We just have to lock into what we do. We’re all professionals here that are getting paid. We’re going to keep doing what we got to do and focus on the present and what’s going on right now,” Booker diplomatically added.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Devin Booker and Kevin Durant's chemistry lead the Suns to a championship despite trade rumors?

Have an interesting take?

At the moment, Devin Booker and the Suns do appear locked in winning six of their last eight games. However, they will need to keep their win streaks if they want to remain in the playoff contention and achieve a successful and massive turnaround. With that being said, Bradley Beal holds the cards in this scenario with his no-trade clause. But it will be interesting to see what happens come February 6.
