The Sacramento Kings took care of business at home, defeating the Los Angeles Lakers. Four quarters were not enough for one team to get the upper hand and the game?s outcome was decided in overtime. Even though Malik Monk shined the brightest in extra time, De?Aaron Fox?s heroics were not overlooked.

De?Aaron Fox ended up stepping on another player?s foot, injuring his ankle. After he left the court to get his ankle looked at, Fox was back on the sidelines to finish the Lakers off. Here?s what his 24-year-old teammate had to say.

But this win would not have been possible without De?Aaron Fox?s performance throughout the five quarters. The Kings All-Star point guard went off for a 37-point performance against the Lakers.

What was even more impressive is the fact that Fox fought through the pain to send the Lakers home with another loss. After the game, his 24-year-old teammate Kevin Huerter had this to say.

?He didn?t want to come off the court. He wasn?t supposed to start in overtime and he just kind of walked out there and told the coaches he was going to play.?

This is the type of leadership Fox has displayed over time for the Kings. The All-Star guard has been a crucial part of the Kings’ rise to stardom after years of finishing at the bottom of the Western Conference.

And it looks like the Kings surely have the right piece to build their team around.

A few days ago, Warriors guard Klay Thompson also credited the Kings players with having a big three of Fox, Sabonis, and Keegan Murray. But the leader out of the three has been Fox with his performance over the years.

This 37-point performance came off after the Kings lost their last game to the Warriors. But it surely wasn?t due to Fox?s inability to score as he went off for 39 points in that game as well. The Kings had the third-best record in the West last year.

Unfortunately, they were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round itself. So, it seems as if Fox is on a mission this season. Hopefully, he gets a clean bill of health and continues his dominance on the court.
