Ja Morant has been under a lot of scrutiny this year. And most recently his ex-teammate, Dillon Brooks took a jab at him. However, DB’s attempt badly backfired.

Dillon Brooks takes a sly dig at Ja Morant

In recent public comments, Dillon Brooks made remarks that could be read as a subliminal jab at his former colleague Ja Morant. Kelly Iko, host of The IkoSystem podcast, recently revealed, “When I spoke to Brooks in Las Vegas last week, one thing he noted was the impact the former Raptors point guard [Fred VanVleet] would have on his offensive efficiency, an area he?s fully aware he struggled with last season in Memphis.?

However,?VanVleet has earned a reputation as a skilled shot-maker rather than a playmaking passer. It’s likely that Brooks is implying inadvertently that VanVleet’s scoring capabilities could complement his game better than Ja Morant’s playmaking abilities, who was his previous teammate.

Brooks has never been afraid of speaking his mind. Throughout his career, his knack for raising hackles and getting under opponents’ skin has been well-documented. Perhaps Brooks feels even more empowered to speak his mind now that he recently signed a sizable contract extension with the Houston Rockets.

However, Brook’s attempt to take a dig at his former teammate didn’t sit well with the fans.

NBA fans weren’t too pleased when Brooks downplayed Ja’s impact. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on it. A fan tweeted, “brick bros goin crazy next szn”

More reaction came in from other fans, stating that if he can’t work on his offensive efficiency with Ja, they don’t see it happening with FVV.

Meanwhile, a fan attacked Brook’s offensive skills.
