LA Clippers star Paul George candidly revealed the reason behind his embarrassing streak. The 6’8″ star has won the fans’ hearts with his shooting and play-making skills, but when it came down to surpassing his opponents, he fell short. Especially in this season, fans often dragged PG-13 for the repeated miss near the rim. Amid all the noise, George finally disclosed the reason behind the missing dunks.

In the latest episode of Podcast P with Paul George amid the evenly poised round 1 playoff series, PG-13 connected with his podcast homies. One of the hosts brought the dunk conversation into the picture, and the Clippers star didn’t hesitate to get real with it. He said, “The real reason is just my hands aren’t big enough… I just don’t have Kawhi’s hands.”

Kawhi “Claw” Leonard indeed has a reputation for having huge hands. The former champion once even left the fans gasping. During the 2023 NBA Playoff series against the Phoenix Suns, a picture of Leonard walking out of the Footprint arena went viral for an uncanny reason. In that photo, the star was using his iPhone, and fans were quick to point out the size difference, which left them flabbergasted. And those big hands have definitely helped him slam some dunks over his defenders.

On the other hand, Paul George, who rightly pointed out the missing feature in his hand, wasn’t only trolled by the fans but also by his teammates. In the same podcast, PG-13 said, “You know what’s funny… everybody give me sh*t about it… I’ve missed so many attempts… At this point, I got to finish.”

The star then went on to list the names of the players who trolled him for missing shots. He added, ” PJ will give me sh*t about it, Russ.. the whole team will kind of make fun of it at this point.”

Will Paul George create a poster for the ongoing series?

Notably, the star already missed two of them in Game 1, out of which one was blocked. Paul George even went on to praise the Mavs’ Daniel Gafford for blocking the dunk. George further revealed how he can palm the ball, and it gets off his hands as soon as it impacts the defender. The star has four games left in the series to shut down the critics.

Big hands are a huge asset for ballers; even Michael Jordan once spoke about how his lengthy fingers helped him grip the ball and move without fumbling it out. He said, “Well, I have a wide thumb, away from my finger, which gives me the grip for grabbing the ball and being able to move the ball.”

Jordan (9.75”/11.375”) supposedly has a slightly bigger hand than Leonard: 9.75″/11.25″ (length and span). If not for Paul George, Leonard could slam a few poster dunks on the Mavs defender in the ongoing series. Currently, the series is evenly poised with a 1-1 record. Now, the Clippers will travel to Dallas for Game 3.
