How often do we see history being created in back-to-back games in the NBA? Following Joel Embiid’s record-breaking 70-point game, Karl-Anthony Towns backed it up with his own memorable performance. Superstars and legends from the game put their thoughts into words to appreciate these two explosive players as soon as the games finished. However, Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson was late to the party. Almost a day later, he expressed his thoughts on the Minnesota Timberwolves star’s 62-point feat.

The Wolves took on the 13th-seeded Charlotte Hornets and gave away the game despite the performance from Towns. And, the Lakers legend didn’t hesitate in taking a sly dig at the Wolves for the game result.

Johnson took to his X handle and wrote, “I typically don’t like to talk about teams that lose but I have to send some love to the Timberwolves’ Karl Anthony Towns for scoring 62 points, 30 of which were from the 3-point line!”

The Wolves couldn’t cross the line, as the Hornets produced a late comeback in the fourth quarter to shock the home team. Notably, Towns, who dropped 58 points in the first three quarters, could only score four points in the last quarter. And the lack of support from his teammates resulted in a loss. Not to take away from the brilliant outings of Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, and LaMelo Ball.

While he took a subtle dig at the Timberwolves in praising KAT, he generously appreciated Joel Embiid for his historic feat from last night. The 64-year-old was left awestruck by the Philadelphia 76ers star’s field goal percentage and also congratulated the reigning MVP for leading the MVP race once again.
